OUR HISTORY
These are the first years of Molise viticulture, when in 1972, 41 winemakers formed the Campomarino Wine Cooperative in Molise.
Today we are over 140 members who take care of the cultivation of typical vines with the enthusiasm and dedication typical of those who cultivate their land, discovering with wonder every day the results of their commitment.
WINE GROWERS AND PRODUCERS SINCE 1972
The Cantina Cliternia is a cooperative of about 150 members of the Molise region, is protected to the south by the suggestive profile of the Gargano promontory and kissed to the east by the gentle Adriatic breeze, in a region rich in ancient wine-making traditions, the winery is located in the close to the ancient Cliternium or Cliternianum, which was a center of neuralgic connection for economic-military traffics towards the East in the golden age of the Roman Empire.
OUR GRAPES. OUR WINES.
We like to define ourselves as wine artisans because our vines and our wines are born, grow and are bottled completely in our Cellar. We produce wines from typical IGT and DOC grapes, combining tradition and innovation. We preserve in our wines the natural results obtained from the earth, from the sun and from the Mediterranean climate, producing wine with advanced technologies and research, and grasping at best every element of taste and quality.
OUR RESERVE IN BARRELS OF OAK
the Biferno D.O.C. is produced Reserve and the Molise Reserve.
This process is decisive for the quality of the scents
that the wine will express after being in the barrel.

PRODUCTION IN OVER 40 YEARS
Today we have wine vessels with a capacity of about 200,000 hectoliters, of which 30,000 are thermo-conditioned, and a bottling line of 4,000 pieces per hour.
The bottling represents more than 50% of the turnover and is distributed mainly in foreign markets such as Japan, Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom and Germany.
OUR LABORATORY
The improvement of the quality of the wine produced goes from a careful and precise analytical control carried out along the entire winemaking process for this reason the Cantina Cliternia has at its disposal an internal chemical laboratory equipped with an effective quality control during the whole winemaking process. the possibility of determining the most useful parameters for the winemaker, such as: sugars, L-malic acid, total and volatile acidity, pH, alcohol content, free and total sulfur dioxide, readily assimilable nitrogen and total polyphenol index.
Analytical control has great relevance and interest in the knowledge of the characteristics of the raw material and of the wines in some key moments of the oenological process. The knowledge of the analytical data makes it possible to take precise decisions regarding the technical interventions to be carried out on wines, treatments and strategies that are more suitable to achieve the set oenological objectives. Furthermore, analytical control is particularly important for verifying the compliance of production with the limits and parameters imposed by current legislation and compliance with particular requirements in terms of food safety of products, as provided for by the HACCP self-control plans.
